Forward Financing is a financial technology company based in Boston, Massachusetts with team members throughout the United States, Dominican Republic, and Canada. The company is on a mission to unlock the capital that fuels small businesses across America. Recognized as a Best Place to Work by Built In Boston and certified as a Great Place To Work®, Forward is investing in its employees, technology, and customer experience – with long‑term success in mind every step of the way. Overview As Data Analyst, Sales Operations , you will be responsible for analytics and reporting used to drive the success of our Sales Department. In this role, you will own recurring performance reporting which operates on a daily, weekly and monthly cadence, as well as contribute to ad‑hoc data analysis projects. Recurring reports include weekly sales performance reports for the sales leadership team, monthly sales performance reports for the senior leadership team, monthly Presidents Club leaderboard administration, monthly sales commission reporting and administration, and sales SPIF calculation and administration. Your objective will be to streamline and automate our existing reporting (which is primarily manually compiled within Excel), laying the groundwork for increased participation in ad‑hoc reporting and strategic initiatives. In this role you will: Take over ownership of recurring reporting: learn the ins and outs of our reporting set, including the hows and whys, data challenges, and insights deliverables. Streamline and automate recurring reporting: identify and implement strategies to streamline and automate our existing reporting processes. Administer compensation and awards plans: update Presidents Club leaderboard and compile annual awards data; administer Sales SPIFs; compile and submit monthly incentives and sales contest compensation. Monitor performance and share insights with sales leadership: review sales performance data and trends, and share them with sales leaders and managers to inform their focus and sales strategies. Analyze performance trends and create forecasts: analyze and communicate larger sales performance trends, strategic insights, and forecasts to leadership, managers, and other stakeholders on a monthly basis, driving the overall success of the Sales Department. Support test‑and‑learn initiatives: support sales pilot programs (e.g., new sales strategies, tools, incentive plans) from a testing and data perspective to draw data‑backed conclusions on their effectiveness. Perform ad‑hoc analysis: perform in‑depth sales analysis and leverage findings to optimize sales effectiveness, productivity, and overall business performance. Why you should apply: Mission driven company: Forward is a trusted source of fast, flexible funding for small businesses that have often been underserved by traditional financing options. When you join the team, you will help ensure all small businesses have access to the financial support they need to succeed. Flexibility is a top priority: Our employees are empowered to choose where they want to work (whether that’s from home, in the office, or a combination of both) with flexible hours. Role Requirements 2+ years of experience as a business analyst, data analyst, sales operations analyst, finance analyst, or related role. Expert‑level skills with Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets (complex nested IF statements, XLOOKUP, INDEXMATCH, macro creation, array formulas, ability to build dynamic and automated dashboards and visualizations with slicers, etc.). Experience streamlining and automating Excel/Google Sheets reporting. Experience cleaning and validating data to ensure data accuracy. Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Finance, or other technical field. Tableau/PowerBI/Looker experience (building dashboards, including tables and visualizations) required. SQL experience preferred. Experience evaluating unique problems, collaboratively creating solutions, drafting project plans and delivering effective new business processes. Self‑starter, confident, with strong attention to detail and an ability to apply your analytical mind to solving problems. Compensation At Forward Financing, we’re committed to fair and transparent compensation. We believe in providing a compensation package that recognizes your skills, experience, and the unique value you bring to our team. We take a market‑based approach to pay, regularly reviewing benchmark data to ensure our compensation remains competitive, equitable, and aligned with our performance‑driven culture. Final offers are determined by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s qualifications, relevant experience, specific skills, and internal equity. This approach ensures that our compensation is competitive and equitable. Your recruiter will provide specific details on the expected base and variable earnings as it pertains to this specific role. Total Rewards Additionally, we offer a comprehensive total rewards package, including but not limited to: medical, dental, vision, commuter benefits, a flexible time‑off policy, paid parental leave, 401k match for US employees, wellness reimbursement, volunteering days, annual professional development budget, and charitable donation match. Core Values Drive the Mission – We believe in financial opportunity for underserved small businesses.
