Position Overview
The Manager, Logistics & Distribution plays a pivotal role in driving the transformation of CMH's warehousing and distribution operations, focusing on cost control, efficiency enhancement, and people management. Reporting directly to the director of Supply Chain, this position is responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of warehouse and distribution activities to optimize supply chain performance and support CMH's commitment to excellence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Warehouse and Distribution Transformation:
    • Execute strategic initiatives to optimize warehouse layout, processes, and workflows to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
    • Spearhead the implementation of innovative technologies and best practices to streamline warehousing and distribution operations.
  • Cost Control:
    • Develop and manage budgets for warehousing and distribution activities, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
    • Analyze financial data and performance metrics to track expenses, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to optimize cost-effectiveness.
  • People Management:
    • Provide leadership and direction to the warehouse and distribution team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
    • Recruit, train, and develop talent within the team, ensuring alignment with CMH's values and objectives.
  • Operational Excellence:
    • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and track warehouse and distribution performance, implementing corrective actions as needed to achieve targets.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with procurement, hospitality, and other departments to ensure seamless integration and alignment of supply chain processes.
  • Compliance and Risk Management:
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and industry best practices in warehousing, distribution, and transportation.
    • Proactively identify and mitigate risks related to warehousing and distribution operations to safeguard CMH's reputation and assets.
  • Help develop and support implementation of OHS, sustainability, and DEI initiatives.
  • Train, participate in and provide support, as required, during emergency response situations.
  • Support guests and employees in the field program during area visits, as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Diploma or degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field.
  • Five years of progressive experience in logistics and distribution management, with a proven track record of success in driving operational excellence and cost control.
  • Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), transportation management systems (TMS), and other relevant software applications an asset.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve goals in a fast-paced environment, preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with clean driver's abstract.

  • Confidence to interact with all levels of the company in a hub-and-spoke model in which many individuals are remote.
  • Ability to manage a large, multi-outlet, multi-million-dollar inventory.
  • Ability to recognize quality and identify trending products.
  • Able to identify potential issues and quickly work with the team to manage and respond to such situations in a timely and professional manner.
  • Sees projects through to completion including follow-up on any identified issues.

Working Conditions
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the role and able to lift, carry, or otherwise move and position up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Manual dexterity to operate a computer and other common office equipment on a regular basis.
  • This position requires you to work on evenings, weekends, and holidays based on the needs of the business.
  • Willingness to travel, as needed, to support CMH's operational requirements.
