About the Position: RWDI is seeking an energetic and motivated individual to join our Acoustics team in Vancouver BC. This is an intermediate level position . The successful candidate will have at least 3 years of experience analyzing and resolving challenging environmental noise or architectural acoustics problems in a consulting environment. The role includes but is not limited to: Conducting field measurements and inspections at commercial, residential, institutional, and construction sites primarily around the greater Vancouver area. Producing high quality, thoughtful analysis using commercially available software packages and in-house tools. Taking ownership of timeline and budget to deliver a successful project from data acquisition through analysis, consulting, and reporting. Taking a client-focused approach, where your technical skills support the success of your client’s projects. Communicating complex technical concepts in straight-forward language. Adhering to a defined quality assurance process. Active and frequent communication with project managers, clients, and others within the Acoustics team. Note that practitioners within the Acoustics team are purely technical. This role does not involve project management. There are, however, opportunities to interact with clients and support the project management team. We are accepting applications from candidates with the following qualifications: Undergraduate degree in an applicable engineering discipline. Current registration or ability to register with Engineers & Geoscientists British Columbia as an E.I.T. or P.Eng. Valid driver’s license. Minimum 3 years of experience in an acoustical or environmental noise consulting environment, or equivalent related field. Demonstrated knowledge of key areas of acoustics such as: Building code requirements and applicable metrics (e.g. STC, NC, etc). Modelling software (e.g., Odeon, INSUL, Cadna/A, etc). Ability to interpret architectural/mechanical/electrical drawings and specifications. Availability to work in-person in our downtown office. The following attributes are seen as assets for this position: Consulting experience Superior written and verbal communication skills Familiarity with acoustic instrumentation, data acquisition systems and digital signal processing. Ability to deliver quality technical work with focus on project budgets and deliverable schedules. The Acoustics team is a close-knit team where people love what they do.
