Position Overview The Manufacturing Engineer will support daily production operations, lead problem-solving activities, and drive continuous improvements within a high-volume automotive manufacturing environment. This role focuses on optimizing stamping processes, improving equipment performance, supporting maintenance teams, and contributing to successful model launches and engineering changes. The ideal candidate is hands‑on, analytical, and experienced in fast‑paced industrial environments with a strong foundation in process engineering. Key Responsibilities Daily Production Support Lead root cause analysis for safety, quality, and production issues and implement effective corrective actions. Conduct equipment fault analysis and lead kaizen activities to eliminate chronic downtime. Provide technical direction to maintenance personnel during major repairs or improvement projects. Coordinate daily engineering priorities with Maintenance, Production, and Production Control teams. Monitor KPIs to identify opportunities for productivity, quality, and reliability improvement. Optimize stamping press parameters, including cycles per minute, line balance, error‑proofing, and scrap reduction. Prepare and present cost‑saving proposals for consumables, tooling, and process efficiencies. Program Launches & Engineering Changes Develop process plans for new parts, including equipment requirements, tooling specifications, and capacity planning. Evaluate and implement process or equipment modifications associated with engineering changes. Plan and support commissioning of new dies, including schedules, trials, and design reviews. Update plant layouts to reflect changes in tooling, coil requirements, and material flow. Lead model launch teams to meet engineering, timing, and production targets. Create detailed equipment specifications, manage supplier quotes, and coordinate purchase orders. Support regulatory compliance, including permits, safety reviews, and adherence to industrial standards. Produce detailed engineering drawings and documentation using AutoCAD and SolidWorks. Leadership & Support Oversee contractors and trades during installation, repairs, or project‑related tasks. Provide guidance to co‑op students and manage their task priorities within the engineering team. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering (or related discipline). 4+ years of experience in automotive or high-volume manufacturing as a manufacturing / process / launch / industrial engineer. Strong ability to conduct root cause analysis and drive corrective actions. Experience with stamping, robotics, automation, or metallurgy is an asset. Proficiency with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Microsoft Office. Strong communication, teamwork, prioritization, and project management skills. Ability to work overtime when required. #J-18808-Ljbffr
