About the Role As our Project Controls Engineer/Technologist, reporting directly to the PMO Manger. You will be a key contributor in providing cost and schedule visibility across our projects. You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure project budgets and schedules are clearly tracked and communicated. Through accurate forecasting, trend analysis, and proactive reporting, you will provide the insights needed to anticipate risk, minimize change orders and keep projects on track. Your work will help ensure our engineering activities remain aligned with client expectations and overall project objectives. This is a temporary full-time, maternity leave coverage position for approximately one year, with an anticipated start date of March 2026. Impact & Responsibilities Develop project controls systems, procedures and reports based on stakeholder needs and industry best practices. Create, monitor, and update integrated project schedules that track engineering deliverables, procurement activities, and project milestones, ensuring alignment across stakeholders. Track project costs, perform budget analysis, forecast expenditures, and ensure alignment with financial targets. Identify potential risks, analyze trends, and develop mitigation strategies to keep projects on track. Monitor project performance, prepare status reports, and present findings to project teams and stakeholders. Implement and manage processes for controlling changes to the project scope, schedule, or budget. Maintain earned value metrics to measure performance against baseline schedules and budgets, providing actionable insights to project stakeholders. Identify and support continuous improvement opportunities in project controls practices and tools across the organization. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering and registration in good standing with APEGA OR Technical diploma in engineering technology and registration in good standing with ASET. PMP certification is an asset. 5+ years of progressive experience in project controls in the oil & gas industry. Who We Are Looking For Strong proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Power BI, PowerPoint & SharePoint) Proficiency in project controls and scheduling software such as Primavera 6 and Microsoft Project is an asset. High attention to detail and accuracy with the capability to recognize problems and proactively develop solutions. In-depth experience in cost estimating and cost analysis. Working knowledge of facilities, engineering and upstream and downstream oil & gas industries. Strong interpersonal, coordination, communication and organizational skills.
