You'll have the opportunity to work across our portfolio of leading brands, including PC Express, Shoppers Drug Mart, and Joe Fresh, focused on the entry, browse and search stages of the ecommerce shopping journey. Reporting into the Director of Product Design on a team of designers, you’ll join a high-performing team of Product Designers who are passionate about using data and insights to craft intuitive and engaging digital products. Collaborating closely with product managers, researchers, and tech leads, you'll champion a user-centered design approach, ensuring our e-commerce platforms and internal tools are exceptional.This is an opportunity to join a company with a fantastic culture and make a real difference in the lives of Canadians. You'll be part of a collaborative environment, partnering with team members across the organization to contribute to the overall success of Loblaw Digital.What You’ll DoProblem Discovery, Definition & Goal Setting: You’ll collaborate with your team to ensure that problems, initiatives, and outcomes are well-defined and documented based on objective data. You’ll facilitate discovery sessions and workshops that align your team around clearly defined problem statements and goals. Service & Interaction Design: You know when and why to apply design processes to achieve the right outcomes. Your focus will be on the interplay between digital interfaces and the physical, real-world workflows of our colleagues. Your work product will include detailed service blueprints, journey maps, information architecture, user flows, and wireframes that solve for both digital and operational challenges. Visual Design: You’ll design the high-fidelity interfaces that we build. You understand how to convey visual personality, tone, look and feel, and the flourish that is appropriate to your product. Design Systems Thinking: You’ll ensure that design solutions utilize and further the team's design system, and leverage or iterate on existing patterns whenever possible. You’ll identify undefined or inconsistent patterns and propose scalable solutions. You’ll encourage and facilitate the shared naming of elements across design and development on the team. Design Research, Validation & Iteration: You’ll contribute to and lead user and market research activities, and synthesize their results. You’ll leverage a range of mixed methods tools from generative to evaluative, experimentation, and in-market performance to improve your work. You’ll track the performance of your work post-launch and continue to optimize based on data. Inclusive Design: You’ll ensure that our digital products can be experienced by everyone, reflecting the diversity of the communities we serve. You have an applied understanding of AODA design requirements and can apply knowledge of inclusive design ‘grey areas’ that may not be legal requirements, but improve our digital products for everyone. Your qualifications should include:2+ years of experience working as a designer on cross-functional teams releasing consumer experiences or enterprise products.More specific and desirable experiences applicable to this role:Internal tool designDesigning and shipping web or desktop applications for operations, support, HR, logistics, finance, or other internal teams. Streamlining workflows and improving efficiency for specialized business functions. Creating interfaces that integrate with complex internal or proprietary systems. Service design & process mappingMapping end-to-end processes to identify pain points and opportunities. Designing services that connect multiple teams, tools, and touch-points. Coordinating between technical teams and non-technical internal stakeholders. Conducting user research and understanding domain-specific constraints (compliance, security and workflow dependencies). Identifying and defining key service performance metrics to inform development priorities and measure the impact of new or updated service processes. Collaborating with product and engineering teams to ensure success measures, such as adoption rates, task completion time, and error frequency, are built into the design and development of tools or processes. Your portfolio should include case studies that demonstrate:Beautiful, accessible, scalable digital experiences that you have shipped. Your approaches to problem framing and solutioning while balancing user needs, stakeholder needs and technical constraints. Your ability to use design as a tool to uncover what questions to ask, what solutions to explore, and how to define and measure success. Experience in working in a cross-functional team environment with multiple designers, multiple product managers, multiple stakeholders.
