The Engineering, Parks and Environment department has an exciting opportunity for two (2) regular full‑time Project Managers, Utilities. These professionals will provide strong communication and organisational skills to manage projects focused on assessing, maintaining, and replacing critical City infrastructure including water, sewer, drainage, and roadways. Responsibilities Prepare comprehensive project plans and documents, encompassing schedules, budgets, supply chain strategies, and communication protocols. Review plans and drawings for compliance with established standards, monitor construction progress, and provide guidance on proposed changes. Secure all necessary permits, land tenures, and rights required for construction. Ensure work is executed in accordance with contractual obligations, regulatory requirements, and occupational health and safety standards. Engage with interest holders, review invoices and payment claims, prepare technical reports and project specifications. Oversee work of contractors and consultants, contribute to development and implementation of design, construction, and operational standards, and foster strong collaborative relationships with external partners, internal departments, and the public. Qualifications Related experience in a supervisory and administrative capacity along with a diploma or degree in Applied Science in a related discipline. Attention to detail, ability to manage multiple projects of varying size and complexity. Experience in municipal infrastructure management, delivering projects as a contract administrator, with field experience on construction sites. Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills. Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office Suite; experience using an Enterprise Resource Planning system (such as Infor Public Sector) considered an asset. Familiarity with MMCD or similar contract documents and formal project management training or certification preferred. Current Police Information Check (PIC) will be required during the recruitment process. Compensation Salary range: $119,964 to $141,132 annually (2024 rates). Exempt position with compressed work schedule.
