About the School of Medicine It’s time to transform medical education. The Opportunity We are seeking a Senior Director, Clinical Education to join the School of Medicine Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, this new leadership role provides strategic direction and operational oversight for the Clinical Education portfolio within TMU’s School of Medicine (SoM), in collaboration with the Vice Dean, Clinical Education, and senior academic leadership. Working closely with Associate and Assistant Deans, clinical faculty leaders, and administrative teams, this role will develop a strategic and overarching framework for the growth, creation, delivery, quality, and continuous improvement of all academic and clinical education initiatives across the portfolio. The Senior Director provides high‑level direction and leadership to Directors and Managers in the Learner Affairs Unit, Recruitment and Admissions Unit, Clinical Learning Unit, and the Clinical Anatomy & Simulation team. This role ensures seamless coordination across these units, aligning goals, processes, and resources to support learner success and program excellence. This position collaborates with senior leaders to develop and implement strategies that support and execute the School of Medicine’s strategic goals and priorities. The Senior Director also supports the CAO in managing external partnerships, vendor relations, and contracts, including the development and negotiation of partnership agreement and execution of joint initiatives. The Senior Director will collaborate with and support the Dean/Vice President, Medical Affairs and CAO to ensure that the SoM has a plan for adequate representation and engagement across local, provincial, and national societies and groups relevant to medical education. The role also leads the exploration, ideation, articulation and proposal of new initiatives that align with the strategic and operational mandates of the Clinical Education section, the School of Medicine, and TMU, and oversees their development and implementation once approved. Qualifications To help us learn more about you, please provide a cover letter and resume describing how you meet the following required qualifications: Completion of a Master’s degree in business administration, public / healthcare administration, strategic and financial planning, or in a related field. A minimum of 8 years of progressive senior‑level experience overseeing academic or clinical education programs in a post‑secondary, health sciences, or medical school environment, including program planning, accreditation, and continuous improvement and managing financial, human and physical resources within a large and complex organization in the education, healthcare or broader public sector. Equivalent experience or a combination of equivalent experience and education may be accepted in place of education. Proficiency in strategic and financial planning, administration, and reporting with demonstrated knowledge of management principles and practices. Expertise in leading service delivery and program administration within a multi‑stakeholder or matrix organizational structure. Extensive knowledge of project management methodology, principles and practices. Demonstrated track record of leading high‑performing teams, including managing, mentoring, and developing staff at multiple levels. Knowledge of human resources management principles and practices, including workforce planning and performance management. Strong strategic thinking and planning skills. Excellent (oral and written) communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear reports and deliver persuasive presentations to diverse audiences. Proficiency in financial analysis and risk assessment to inform sound business and operational decisions. Strong analytical reasoning, problem‑solving, decision‑making skills. Ability to manage multiple, competing projects and priorities within tight timelines while maintaining high standards of quality.
