Team The Roku Content Merchandising team enables users to discover, acquire and engage with all the content on the Roku platform and The Roku Channel. We partner with Product, Engineering, Content Operations, Content Distribution, and Marketing to build and manage engaging experiences that use algorithmic machine learning and editorial curation. About the Role The Merchandising Manager, Platform & Sports will be a key member of the International Merchandising team. You’ll help develop, execute and drive content merchandising and editorial curation across Canada and other international markets, including platform experiences such as “What to Watch”, Featured Experiences and Sports. Ideal candidates are analytical, innovative, and creative problem solvers with strong project‑management, interpersonal and communication skills, critical to working across multiple time zones. You must love movies, TV series, sports, and other content types and be able to contribute strategically with new concepts and launches. You must have experience with content management systems (CMS) and a foundational understanding of Canada’s content ecosystem, including sports landscape, broadcast rights, and local/global rights. This role is based in Toronto and reports to the International Merchandising Lead. Responsibilities Partner with Merchandising teammates and cross‑functional counterparts to launch and manage content products across Canada and other markets. Create and execute editorial plans for events ranging from global‑scale events like the Olympics to league‑specific games. Be on deck the day of key events to manage game‑day merchandising operations across the platform. Support content curation on platform experiences including What to Watch, Live TV, Featured, Free, and The Roku Channel. Create merchandising strategies for seasonal holidays and trending global and local moments. Pull and analyze data to inform merchandising strategies. Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Operations, Marketing, and Analytics to drive best‑in‑class curation across the Roku platform in Canada. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in film, media, marketing, business or equivalent experience. 6 years of experience in media content or product strategy with previous experience in Sports FAST and/or Live TV. Strong knowledge of the media & sports landscape in Canada. Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Jira; Airtable and Confluence experience a plus. Able to work early mornings, late evenings and weekends as needed. In‑depth experience with CMS tools. Ability to multitask, juggling multiple time‑sensitive projects. Ability to work within a fast‑paced digital/tech environment. Working knowledge of analytics tools (Looker, Tableau) and data‑driven decision making. Comfortable using AI tools. Skilled in communication, both verbal and written. Experience collaborating across disciplines. Ability to work independently and know when to ask for help. French language proficiency is a plus. Platform & Sports Merchandising Manager – City of Penticton (Recreation Coordinator – McLaren & Sport Facilities) City of Penticton is a vibrant, innovative waterfront community focused on sustainability, community and economic opportunity. The Recreation Department promotes and enhances the quality of life for residents and visitors through planning, management and delivery of recreation, sports events and active living opportunities. The Recreation Coordinator reports to the Recreation Business Supervisor and supports the City’s strategic direction in recreation and sport programming. Responsibilities include booking and coordinating programs at McLaren Arena and outdoor sport fields, developing and coordinating recreation programming areas, managing seasonal staff, maintaining equipment and facilities, and preparing budget reports. Key Duties & Responsibilities Coordinate and book sports and events at city sport fields, McLaren Arena and other facilities as required. Create and adapt sport rental contracts and associated rental costs using Xplor Recreation software. Coordinate supplies, equipment, and facilities required for bookings, including scheduling for washrooms, field lights, etc. Communicate and build relationships with user groups, internal departments, external contractors and suppliers. Hire, train, schedule and oversee seasonal staff at McLaren Arena while ensuring accurate point‑of‑sale operations. Respond to booking inquiries and provide quotes, information and availability. Develop and coordinate city recreation programming areas as required. Resolve conflicting booking requests at outdoor facilities. Provide backup coverage for the Recreation Coordinators as needed. Provide program and promotional information for news releases, radio announcements, social media, etc. Assist in preparing budgets, monitoring expenditures, compiling statistics and preparing reports. Required Knowledge, Abilities & Skills Knowledge of the principles, practices and objectives of community recreation. Exceptional organizational and communication skills. Ability to work evenings and weekends. Exceptional oral and written communication skills. Initiative, good judgement and independent work. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of Xplor Recreation considered an asset. Experience overseeing staff and volunteers to ensure effective performance. Professionalism and leadership, tact, diplomacy. Education & Experience Minimum 2‑year diploma in Recreation/Leisure Services or related discipline. Minimum 2‑4 years demonstrable experience in sports event or project management.
