Overview Electrical & Instrumentation Superintendent - Day Shift. The Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Superintendent (Mining) is responsible for supervising and overseeing field construction activities from contractors and has the opportunity to work on Hatch and Bantrel Joint Venture (HBJV) to execute engineering and construction on the BHP Jansen Potash Mine Project in Saskatchewan. The HBJV is currently carrying out the Detailed Engineering Phase for the Processing, Non-Process Infrastructure (NPI) and Mining Areas of the 4.5 Mtpa Stage 1 Potash Mine. Camp rotation: 14 days on / 7 days off, 10-hour shifts. Day shift. This is a full-time permanent role and supports diversity and inclusion. Responsibilities Ensures the effective implementation of Jansen Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) processes, plans, and procedures and aligns with project goals. Embraces and actively participates in the HSE Field Leadership program. Supervises and coordinates contractors’ operations; monitors and ensures contractor activities and performance follow expectations (on schedule and budget, compliant with HSE requirements); performs regular field inspections. Validates the sequence of activities and level of effort; provides support to the general superintendent to complete execution analysis. Proactively identifies field changes, collaborates with Project Construction Coordinators and Field Engineering representatives; ensures directives are clear, timely, and well understood by all stakeholders. Ensures work is not undertaken before management review and approval. Liaises and coordinates with HBJV Field Engineering, Site Material Management, Contracts, Project Controls, Quality, HSE, Common Services and Commissioning; supports Field Engineering in resolving technical queries and with NCR resolutions. Contributes to site-wide traffic management planning and management of temporary infrastructure. Manages review, monitoring, and communication of SIMOPs (simultaneous operations). Contributes to constructability reviews to prevent fatal flaws and ensure upcoming scopes are thoroughly planned. Collaborates with other superintendents within the surface process IPT and may backfill during shift or leave. Manages time effectively and adheres to deadlines. Participates in the Jansen Risk Program as a Risk Owner or Control Owner. Validates reports and forecasts, including construction progress, manpower forecasts, and input to cost forecasts. Reviews and approves contractor permits and requests. Adheres to project job instructions, SOPs, Bantrel Construction procedures and corporate ethics. Qualifications Bachelor’s in Engineering or Trade Certificate is preferred. Minimum 7 years’ experience in heavy industrial construction, with a focus on shaft, mining, or potash projects.
