Facilities Manager (6-month fixed term contract) Closing Date: 21 January 2026 Rossdales Veterinary Surgeons is seeking a Facilities Manager to join our friendly, professional and dedicated operations team, based in Exning. This position is fixed term, initially for 6 months. We are looking for a proactive, enthusiastic, and organised individual to lead our in-house facilities maintenance team, providing a high-quality maintenance service. This is an important role, ensuring the smooth running of our busy equine hospital and wider veterinary practice, delivering timely maintenance and repairs to the buildings and grounds, management of the in-house team, coordination with external contractors and leading planned projects for site improvements. Property and site management , including: responding to facilities-related emergencies and urgent issues (including out of hours services); managing the in-house maintenance team; planning and coordinating in-house maintenance activities; managing fleet, plant and machinery resources; ensuring on-site security; and liaising with our landlords regarding rental accommodation and premises. Contractor management and engagement, including: scheduling and coordination of contractor visits; ensuring quality of work and service in-line with operational requirements and service agreements; overseeing utilities and services, and liaising with providers and or central management as required. Health & Safety compliance , including: ensuring H&S standards and regulatory compliance across all sites and services. Project coordination , including: planning and coordination of site improvement projects, tenders and contractors; and planning and leading facilities maintenance projects to ensure minimum disruption to core activities. Planning and budget management in line with strategic business objectives. Systems, procurement and reporting , including: procurement and supplier engagement; cost calculation and value management; running activities in an efficient and cost-effective manner; ensuring sustainability objectives are met; ensuring SOPs, policies and site signage/notices are up-to-date. Fulfilling routine and monthly reporting to senior management.
