We are looking for a collaborative and driven Facilities Engineer to join our team at the Empress Gas Complex, located near Burstall, Saskatchewan — approximately 117 km north of Medicine Hat, Alberta. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys being close to operations, solving practical challenges, and working as part of a small, high‑performing team that values collaboration and mutual respect. Responsibilities

Develop and stamp engineering documents, work packages, and site designs. Provide technical support for maintenance, turnaround, and project execution activities. Lead or support site safety, integrity, and process improvement initiatives. Coordinate with corporate teams on feasibility studies, design improvement, and project implementation.

Champion Management of Change (MOC) and Work Execution processes using Maximo. Conduct root‑cause and performance assessments to support continuous improvement. Collaborate closely with Operations, Maintenance, and Asset Integrity teams to deliver safe and efficient plant performance. Participate in short‑term secondments with Operations, Planning, or Maintenance to build integrated site experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering is preferred. Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) designation or eligibility upon hire. 5–10 years of experience in facility Operations, Maintenance, or Engineering. May consider Engineers‑in‑Training if site tasks are aligned with career aspirations.

Working knowledge of industry codes (ASME B31.1/31.3, ASME BPVC Section I/VIII, API, NACE, CSA, ABSA). Familiarity with project management processes (PMP designation an asset, not required). Prior operational experience and knowledge with turnaround practices are strong benefits. Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Comfortable working independently in a field‑based environment. Previous experience in oil and gas processing or heavy industry is an asset. Hands‑on, practical approach to problem‑solving is preferred. This position is not eligible for employment‑based visa sponsorship.
