Robotics and Industrial Automation Engineering Co‑op Student Mechatronic Design Solution is hiring a Robotics and Industrial Automation Engineering Co‑op Student, in Ottawa, ON for 4 or 8 months. The ideal candidate will demonstrate hands‑on machine skills, an organized mindset, and the ability to work with mentorship on the development of automated industrial equipment. Mechatronics D.S. offers turnkey development of complex automated equipment and robotic manufacturing lines. We are a small team of engineers, technicians, and designers determined to create top‑quality automated manufacturing lines with a significant impact on our clients’ businesses. Our services include process automation, equipment design, control and electrical engineering, production trials, robotic integration, and site implementation. Ongoing projects include Research and development of environmentally friendly meat alternatives. High speed robotic handling of precious metals. Industrial manufacturing: automated assembly, punching, cutting. Integration of AI‑based equipment effectiveness monitoring data collection terminals. Novel and automated agriculture for vertical farms. Automated industrial food manufacturing (omelets, crepes, injera). Robotic machine tending and case packing. Required Qualifications Completed at least 3 years of post‑secondary education. Has completed at least 2 work or co‑op terms in industrial automation, manufacturing, or robotics. Hands‑on experience (assembly, machining, welding, sheet metal, 3D printing). Natural problem solver with a positive can‑do attitude. Attention to detail, good communication, organization, and decision‑making skills. Must have demonstrated experience in at least 2 of the potential responsibilities. Potential Responsibilities Machine assembly and fabrication. Programming and integration of collaborative or industrial robots. Design of automated equipment in Solidworks. Request for quotes and procurement of industrial equipment. Control panel build and wiring.
