Please see the job description below, if interested reply to further discuss this position.Our Long-Term Care Home client has an opening for the position of casual Part-time Day and Evening RPN (with potential of a permanent position). This position will be responsible for performing a variety of nursing services including supervision of direct care staff in support of the resident’s health and well-being. The successful candidate must ensure compliance with government regulations. The positions require the successful candidates to work daily shifts.This position is governed by the SEIU collective agreement.

POSITION: RPN – Registered Practical NurseLOCATION (closest intersection): Lawrence and Don MillsSHIFTS: Days, Evenings, Overnights – Flexibility for on call shiftsPAYRATE: $30/hr

JOB SUMMARY - RPN• Direct and supervise PSWs.• Actively seek out necessary information to accomplish job responsibilities/standards of performance.• Demonstrate sensitivity to utilization, maintenance, and cost of equipment and supplies pertinent to the nursing department.• Participate in orientation of new staff to the Home/unit.• Provide input to nursing and the multidisciplinary team to help develop individualized plans of care for the residents.• Carry out interventions according to the care plan within their scope of practice.• Assess, measure, document and communicate changes in the resident’s physical, mental or emotional condition using Point Click Care/RAI MDS.• Conduct regular rounds and through interviews and observations, maintain a full knowledge of each resident’s conditions, activities and changing needs. Evaluate nursing interventions in relation to the stated goals.• Administer medication in compliance with the policies of the Home and the standards of the College of Nurses of Ontario. Ensure the safe keeping of drugs and narcotics in compliance with the CNO and policies and procedures of Thompson House.• Maintain all residents’ records (both paper and computerized) in compliance with the policies of the Home and standards of the College of Nurses of Ontario.• Transcribe doctor’s orders. Ensure that the transcription of orders is carried out promptly and accurately. Seek clarification if necessary.• Assist as necessary with personal care of residents.• Supervise mealtimes.• Ensure that the direct care staff is fully informed of their resident’s conditions and needs through a verbal report, accurate up to date assignment sheets and care conferences.• Communicate with resident’s families to inform them of changes, incidents, hospitalizations, and needs in a tactful, empathetic manner.Qualifications:• Registered Practical Nurse with current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario• Experience with Point Click Care or other electronic health care record software.• Certificate in Gerontology is considered an asset.• Experience in nursing and staff supervision an asset• Current CPR Certificate (i.e. completed within one year period)• Cleared and Current (within 6mths) Vulnerable Police Sector Check• Must have valid for CNO licensure• Must have Current / updated - 3 COVID vaccine• Must have Valid N95 mask fit test• Min 1-2 Years Experience in LTCH with PCC/POC at minimum with med pass• Experience working with geriatric population including dementia• Good leadership skills• Computer literacy• Good communication skills in EnglishFront Line Work Force Inc., we offer Competitive Pay, Weekly Pays, Weekly Paid Vacation Pay, Direct Deposit are available.
