Construction Operations Manager

The mission of this role SOV Construction is looking for an Operations Manager who can run our daily field operations: plan the day, dispatch crews to the right sites, stage materials, track what gets done, and push projects to completion—so our work stays on schedule and the team produces consistent, high-quality results. This role is the “engine room” of our construction operations: people + materials + schedule + reporting. What you’ll do (real day-to-day) 1) Daily planning + crew dispatch Dispatch crews: who goes where, what scope they’re doing, priorities, and what “done” looks like Split crews based on skill level, job complexity, and deadlines Communicate with internal and external Project Managers and Safety Managers 2) Materials + tools coordination Plan and coordinate material ordering, pickups, and deliveries to job sites Stage and separate materials and tools per crew and per site (daily/weekly) Maintain basic control of equipment usage and availability (rentals, in/out tracking) 3) Execution tracking + daily reporting Confirm daily scope: planned vs. completed (by crew and by site) Collect photos/notes, document issues, and send a daily operations report to management Track key operational KPIs (productivity, rework, schedule adherence, crew utilization) 4) Project continuity Solve problems that block production (missing info/materials, site constraints, scope changes, scheduling conflicts) Coordinate with internal stakeholders and customers when needed to keep work moving and expectations clear 5) Quality Help maintain jobsite quality standards to reduce rework Complete daily inspections and report on work at project start, during execution, and at project closeout Our scopes Waterproofing Roofing Architectural sheet metal Traffic coating What we’re looking for (must-haves) Proven experience coordinating construction crews / field operations (foreman, dispatcher, site coordinator, superintendent, ops coordinator, etc.) Strong planning and communication skills (you can give clear instructions and hold people accountable) Organized, proactive, and calm under pressure (construction changes daily—this role exists to handle it) Comfortable with tools, job sites, and reading drawings/scope details Solid computer skills (Excel/Sheets, email, basic reporting) and ability to learn new systems quickly Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between sites in Greater Vancouver Nice-to-haves Experience specifically in waterproofing, roofing, sheet metal, and/or traffic coating Familiarity with job tracking tools (Procore and SharePoint) Experience building best practices / standard procedures and training crews What success looks like Strong communication with General Contractors, internal managers, and crews Crews start every day with clear assignments and the right materials Fewer delays due to missing tools/materials/information Consistent daily reporting and predictable progress Reduced rework and a stronger quality control rhythm Compensation & benefits Pay: $100,000–$120,000+ (based on experience) Performance bonus: based on project profitability Benefits: Health Insurance, Dental Insurance, Company Truck, Gas Card, Phone
