Competition # -YPS Employment Type: Permanent Full-time, Bargaining Unit (1 Vacancy) Work Hours: 35 hours/week (M-F 9am-5pm) Work Setting: Exclusively Onsite Salary: External Rate: $54,097.76; Internal Rate: $55,201.79 Application Deadline: July 23, 2025 by 11:59 pm Program Overview – Rites of Passage (ROP) Program The Rites of Passage (ROP) Program Coordinator assists the ROP Homeward Manager in developing and implementing programs and activities for women and children. The program emphasizes African-centered values and aligns with the organization's strategic priorities to meet participant needs. This position reports to the Rites of Passage Manager (Homeward Bound) and involves working collaboratively within the ROP team to coordinate programs for parents and children of African descent. Responsibilities Lead research and implementation of culturally appropriate activities for women, children, and youth. Plan bimonthly culturally relevant group activities and events. Promote events to the Homeward Bound participants. Support and lead workshops and group meetings. Coordinate logistics for meetings, including food and location. Maintain contact with parents to support children during sessions and events. Develop tools to measure program outcomes and effectiveness. Collaborate with staff to ensure seamless program delivery. Manage service data and records following standards. Monitor and report on activity outcomes. Participate in supervisory and staff meetings. Perform additional duties as assigned. Ensure service standards are upheld and centered in all work with African-Canadian youth and communities. Qualifications Undergraduate Degree in Social Work or related diploma/degree. Minimum 3 years’ experience working with children and youth in culturally responsive programming. Preferred Skills Knowledge of African-centered development models. Strong case management, outreach, and organizational skills. Excellent communication and facilitation skills. Understanding of community issues affecting African-Canadian women and children. Proficiency with MS Office, databases, and data analysis. Teamwork and time management skills. Additional Information Seniority level: Mid-Senior level Employment type: Full-time #J-18808-Ljbffr
