Our dedicated employees are the cornerstone of our success, with safety and health prioritized. We are currently seeking Heavy Duty Trailer/Tractor Mechanics to join our team in Toronto, Ontario . Reporting to the Maintenance Foreman, this role involves routine maintenance on our Tractor fleet. Duties and Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance checks and servicing Complete electrical, interior, air brake system, tire, body repairs, and welding as required Facilitate safety inspections Repair or replace equipment when appropriate Assess equipment to determine if it requires repair or needs to be sent out Identify and report faults or malfunctions on all company equipment Coordinate with maintenance staff and the terminal to prioritize repairs Qualifications Red Seal certification or apprenticeship at any level, or willingness to enroll in an apprenticeship program High school diploma with at least 2 years of experience Basic set of hand tools Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills Work ethic capable of working independently and in a team Experience with a wide range of tools and familiarity with vehicle diagnostic equipment Experience in preventative maintenance including electrical, interior, air brake, tire, and body repairs Benefits & Perks Part of Manitoba’s Largest Trucking Company 35 Terminals across North America Competitive pay Comprehensive health benefits Company-matched pension plan Profit-sharing program At Gardewine, we promote diversity, inclusion, and a value-driven workplace.
