Overview The AVP, DevOps and Release will be working closely with Quality Assurance, Development, Project Management and Database teams in creating builds/executables, building smoke tests, deploying new builds to test and production environments, automating builds and deployments, creating/maintaining thorough deployment and environment documentation and troubleshooting release related issues. Responsibilities Manage a team of Release engineers and DBAs, and a tech currency team. Accountable for the infrastructure and deployment needs of the project teams and support teams. Accountable for the infrastructure and applications (on-prem and Azure), and their on-going support. Accountable for the currency/upgrades of these environments (infrastructure upgrades). Maintain and enhance the process documentation around noted activities. Maintain documentation of non-production and production environments. Work closely with stakeholders to prioritize requests and set expectations. Work closely with Development teams to maintain existing applications and onboard new applications. Accountable for the security of these environments including adherence to Chubb Global security and infrastructure requirements and respond to developing security risks. Implement and maintain DevSecOps (CI/CD) pipelines for applications. Migrate applications from the on-prem data center to Azure. Manage monthly and off cycle production deployments. Other activities as assigned Qualifications Completed Bachelor’s Degree (software engineering, computer programming) preferred. Strong knowledge of infrastructure and networking is required. Strong knowledge of scripting is required. Strong knowledge of build and deployments tools such Ant and Maven is required. Knowledge of containers and building CI/CD pipelines is required. Experience with Java/JEE, Websphere, Spring, .net, SQL Server will be an asset. Knowledge of cloud will be an asset. 5+ years experience in a leadership role managing IT teams. Experience with leveraging AI to improve productivity. Passionate about talent development and success with coaching others in their career development. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent time management and organizational skills are essential. Ability to work within tight timelines and after business hours. Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to work independently. Good analytical and problem-solving skills. Previous Release Manager experience considered an asset. This job posting is for an existing vacancy.
