Opportunity Senior Environmental Engineer – Contaminated Sites, Prairies. Serve industrial and government clients in Western Canada, Northwest Territories, Nunavut. Work with experienced hydrogeologists, engineers, geochemists and other professionals. Responsibilities Lead design and preparation of specifications for new or expanding landfill projects, including landfill caps and containment systems for ponds and lagoons. Supervise construction activities to ensure projects meet design and regulatory requirements. Implement and monitor Quality Control and Quality Assurance programs for liner systems. Ensure all project materials and installations comply with industry standards. Apply expertise in the beneficial use of collected landfill gas to optimize system performance. Develop and finalize design drawings and specifications for landfill gas systems. Manage and oversee the installation process of landfill gas systems, ensuring adherence to design plans. Supervise and mentor a multidisciplinary team of professionals, providing technical guidance and support. Ensure all projects comply with environmental regulations and standards. Prepare comprehensive reports and documentation for regulatory compliance and client communication. Conduct environmental impact assessments and land evaluations. Develop and implement strategies for waste management and pollution control. Collaborate with clients to create innovative and sustainable landfill gas management solutions. Stay informed about the latest industry standards, technologies, and best practices. Prepare technical proposals, scopes of works, and cost estimates for professional services. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or higher in Environmental/Civil/Geological Engineering or related engineering disciplines. Minimum 15 years’ experience in: design, preparation or supervision of landfills, caps, ponds and lagoons; construction oversight; QC/QA of liner systems; landfill gas system design and installation; beneficial use of landfill gas. Strong written and oral communication skills in English. Experience leading and supervising professional teams. Registration with APEGA or ability to register in a provincial jurisdiction. Three references required. Written samples may be requested.
