Organizational Description: IHC is an independent registered charity that receives donations of medical equipment and supplies and then ships to resource poor areas of the world. We are an all volunteer organization operating since 1997. Volunteer Opportunity Details Volunteer Opportunity ID: 6117 Description of Duties We are seeking a volunteer with a software development background to help build a simple file‑sharing application/database for tracking our supply inventory. The primary requirement is to create functionality for shipping manifests to support efficient distribution. Requirements Platform: Preferably Microsoft Access (other relational database solutions may be considered) Database Design: Preliminary relational database design work has already been completed Scale: Expected annual growth of 40,000‑50,000 inventory items Users: 4‑8 concurrent users Access Control: Three types of assigned roles/permissions Skills Required Knowledge of relational databases. Experience developing file‑sharing software that runs on a LAN.
