What You’ll Do Lead and coordinate the technical delivery for the software development team Lead, manage and mentor a team of intermediate and junior software developers Support quarterly appraisals and agree upon professional development plans for the software team to meet SRC Can business objectives Work with subject matter and domain experts to elicit software designs Author software source code: Contribute to software designs, requirements, and tests Contribute to software development and integration within an agile methodology Contribute to continuous improvement across software development and processes Monitor, manage, and report project status What You’ll Bring Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in computer science, software engineering, or a closely related discipline Six (6+) years of experience in software development Applied knowledge and experience with the development of distributed software systems Applied knowledge and experience with data engineering Ability to lead development teams in a fast-paced environment, think independently, and make timely decisions to overcome technical challenges Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams Applied experience leading software developers, either as a formal people manager or senior technical lead Excellent English verbal/written communication skills required. Proficiency in French is an asset Candidates must meet the requirements of export control and security regulations, including the Canadian Controlled Goods Program and be eligible to hold a Government of Canada Level 3 Security Clearance Additional (Preferred) Requirements Applied knowledge and experience with container technologies Applied knowledge and experience with Java, C++, C, JavaScript, TypeScript, and Python Applied knowledge and experience with PostgreSQL, Express, React, and Node Applied knowledge and experience with Java Spring Framework Applied knowledge and experience with Oracle Database Applied knowledge and experience with distributed filesystems Applied knowledge and experience with object storage Applied knowledge and experience with data processing engines or data pipelines Applied knowledge and experience with modern data architectures Applied knowledge and experience with VS Code Applied knowledge and experience with Continuous Improvement and Continuous Delivery pipelines Applied knowledge and experience with Linux and Windows operating systems Applied experience working in cross-functional roles Knowledge / experience with Electronic Warfare systems Knowledge / experience with the Five Eyes (FVEY) intelligence community Additional Information Total compensation for this role is market competitive. The anticipated salary range for this position based out of Ottawa, ON, is estimated at $100,000 to $135,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s EW domain knowledge, Software engineering experience, technical skills, and abilities, as well as other business and organizational needs. SRC CCAN Ltd offers a comprehensive salary, vacation, and benefits package. We are extremely flexible around our 40-hour working week. We operate in a hybrid working environment with all staff being able to work remotely. Normally, you will work out of the SRC CAN Ltd office, (Gloucester, Ottawa, ON) and when required, in Department of National Defense (DND) facilities, such as the Shirley’s Bay and Tunney’s Pasture areas within the National Capital Region (NCR).
