Physiotherapist Cardiac/Vascular Surgery St. Michael's Hospital seeks a full‑time physiotherapist to join our Heart, Lung and Vascular Program. The role focuses on assessment, diagnosis and intervention for patients admitted to Cardiac, Vascular, Cardiology, CVICU/CICU and associated units. Responsibilities Provide physiotherapy services to inpatients in Cardiac/Vascular, Cardiology, CVICU/CICU, MSICU, General Surgery and Nephrology units. Collaborate effectively with the interprofessional team to deliver comprehensive patient care. Contribute to the academic mandate as an educator and resource for staff and the professional community. Identify and address educational needs for patients and families. Commit to ongoing professional development to maintain optimal patient care. Participate in continuous quality improvement and/or research initiatives. Deliver patient care in accordance with all professional and organizational standards. Provide anti‑oppressive and accessible care for all patients. Qualifications Currently licensed and in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario (CPO). Master’s Degree (or substantial equivalent) in Physiotherapy. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or willingness to complete within probationary period. Rostered (or willing to roster) with the CPO to administer a substance by inhalation. 1–2 years experience in an acute medical or surgical unit; ICU experience preferred. Experience working with cardiovascular and cardiology patient populations preferred. Preferred rostered for oxygen titration and tracheal suctioning. Excellent communication, critical thinking and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability in a fast‑paced environment. Outstanding time management, organizational and prioritization skills related to patient care. Advocacy and commitment to the profession (e.g., active professional association involvement).
