Prepare hot and cold menu items as a Second Cook at Gather Craft Kitchen & Bar in Assiniboine Park, Winnipeg. Work onsite across the kitchen line.
Reporting to the Chef, Sous Chef, and Chef de Partie, the Second Cook prepares ingredients, cooks dishes, and manages workstations. The position supports timely service, food quality, hygiene, and cleanliness. It also helps train and mentor entry-level cooks during daily kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare vegetables, meat, sauces, and other ingredients
- Cook and assemble hot and cold menu items
- Follow recipes, measurements, and portioning requirements
- Plate food under experienced kitchen staff direction
- Clean stations, stock inventory, and manage leftovers
Requirements:
- Ability to work the whole kitchen line
- Ability to prepare and follow recipes independently
- Ability to chop and prepare food efficiently
- Commitment to safety, hygiene, and cleanliness
- Ability to support entry-level cooks with procedures
