Effective Date April 06, 2026 Responsibilities The VP & CNE provides visionary nursing leadership and develops, implements, and evaluates strategies that align with the corporate strategic directions. With a commitment to enhancing the quality of patient care and advancing patient care through integration, the VP & CNE will expand their knowledge on emerging evidence-based best practices to inform approaches, provide direction in a dynamic health care environment, devise change management strategies, guide program development, and forge flourishing internal and external relationships and networks. Essential Qualifications Five to seven years’ experience in progressive leadership roles in related fields, in a complex multi-stakeholder environment(s). Experience in health care and/or public sector/not-for-profit is an asset. High emotional intelligence with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Focusing on quality improvement through ongoing monitoring and implementation of initiatives and remedies to provide high quality clinical patient services. Monitoring compliance and producing all required attestations and similar compliance declarations. Regularly presenting to hospital senior leadership and Board Committees. Directing and monitoring policies and procedures related to clinical aspects of the hospital. Continuing to advance the hospital’s patient care strategy to be delivered from the patient and family-inspired care perspective. Achieving patient goals from this strategic direction in the Hospital’s Strategic Plan. Identifying opportunities to position the Hospital for future success in Ontario’s evolving landscape of health care funding and service delivery models. Providing strategic and operational leadership regarding opportunities and challenges, projected growth and government funding changes, investment and business planning, and risk management initiatives. Continuing to build internal and external leadership within a multi-stakeholder environment. Current registration and standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (Mandatory) Membership in professional/job related organizations. Masters degree in Nursing, Business Administration or Health Care Management or a related health science. Evidence of a collaborative leadership style with effective team building skills across interdisciplinary teams. Excellent decision making skills with the ability to form and defend independent judgment with the ability to influence others and outcomes. Proven experience achieving results that improve the organization and inspire confidence and commitment. Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to effectively handle a large number of issues simultaneously. Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently and accurately under stressful conditions to meet tight deadlines. Must be change orientated and possess an attitude of continuous improvement. Ability to gain cooperation and support through effective use of influence and persuasion required as an agent of change. Broad knowledge of health care system design, related issues and trends, policies and up to date knowledge of current legislations. Ability to coach, mentor and develop leaders within the financial services team. Excellent computer skills with superior knowledge of Excel, Access, PowerPoint. Preferred Qualifications Minimum ten (10) years experience in clinical practice Minimum ten (10) years experience in a progressive leadership roles(s) Ability to build consensus and gain support Building strong teams that are respectful, collaborative, cooperative and are outcome-orientated Skills in change management Skills in project management Experience with innovation and knowledge translation Superior analytical thinking and problem solving Business acumen Skills in research Integrating technical information systems into clinical practice Being an excellent team player >Knowledge and belief in LEAN methodologies A comprehensive knowledge of the relevant health care legislation Hours of Work Hours of work are 37.5 hours/week, Monday to Friday. Hours and work schedule may vary from time to time in accordance with the Hospital’s operational requirements, including availability for some evenings, nights, and weekends.
