BAS Specialist

Job Summary We’re looking for a BAS Specialist to join our growing Nanaimo team. This role involves designing and supporting building automation systems (BAS), from initial design through commissioning, with a focus on quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Participate in project handovers and gather necessary technical information. Design panel/network layouts and wiring diagrams using Ainsworth tools. Select and order materials per project requirements and deadlines. Create commissioning checklists and support system startup and testing. Program and test BAS to ensure compliance with specs and performance standards. Use and customize Ainsworth/Delta tools and graphics libraries. Provide technical support to internal teams and clients. Assist in project close‑out, as‑built documentation, and team collaboration. Stay up to date with Delta systems and industry standards. Qualifications Strong knowledge of HVAC/BAS systems. Proficient in MS Office suite. Programming experience is an asset. Excellent technical, communication, and organizational skills. Demonstrate strong analytical and logical reasoning skills to solve complex problems. Able to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment. Experience working with contractors and consultants. Degree or diploma in engineering or related field is an asset, but not required. A valid Driver’s License with own vehicle is required. Salary & Benefits The annual gross salary range is $60,000 - $90,000. This role is also eligible to receive an annual bonus that aligns with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary and are based on factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills, and competencies. Salary is one component of the Ainsworth total compensation package, which includes short‑term incentives, multiple health insurance options, and life insurance.
