Support resident connection at Oakwood Commons Community as an Activation Aide, leading activities and encouraging conversation, participation, and belonging.
This Activation Aide reports to the Director of Resident Programs within Sienna Senior Living Long Term Care. You will foster social interaction through designated activities and special events, while helping new residents become acquainted with the facility. The work includes supporting interests, progress, records, and feedback according to departmental guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead designated activities and special events for residents
- Foster social interaction, conversation, and resident engagement
- Welcome new residents to the facility and recreation program
- Facilitate introductions among residents and encourage social participation
- Provide regular participation and feedback updates to the Team Leader
Requirements:
- Post-secondary education in recreation, leisure, or a related field
- Related education may include kinesiology or gerontology
- Equivalent senior-related work experience may be accepted
- Experience working with seniors and motivation concepts
- Successful Vulnerable Sector or Criminal Record Check required
Use your activity leadership, communication, and senior-support experience to strengthen resident relationships and participation at Oakwood Commons Community.
