Toronto, Canada Manulife Financial Full time

About Us: The Global High-Net-Worth (GHNW) Life Insurance Business was formed in 2023 to leverage Manulife’s enterprise-wide capabilities in serving the high-net-worth customer segment. By integrating Manulife Bermuda with Manulife Hong Kong’s and Manulife Singapore’s International Brokerage Channel, the GHNW business capitalizes on the strengths of these three business units to accelerate growth in the HNW and Ultra HNW markets. Job Description: As part of the Global HNW Pricing Team, the individual will provide subject matter expertise and support to the Pricing Leads on various participating whole life, universal life, and indexed universal life pricing projects internationally. This role involves the development, design, modeling, and implementation of insurance products. Additionally, it includes the analysis, development, planning, and reporting of portfolio-level initiatives, such as emerging regulations, reinsurance treaties, annual planning cycles, periodic risk monitoring, and quarterly new business value reporting. This position offers a diverse learning experience with the opportunity to interact with several experienced actuaries. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, proficiency in actuarial software, and excellent communication abilities, all while contributing to the growth of Manulife’s Global HNW Life Insurance Business. Key Responsibilities: Assist in the development of the mechanical design of insurance products to meet financial, regulatory, and competitive/marketing objectives. Support the creation and execution of customized algorithms for rate setting and pricing of new products. Collaborate with product managers and marketing teams to ensure rate solutions align with specified product objectives, and help adjust algorithms to achieve targeted financial results, including cash metrics, capital/reserve requirements, or multi-product portfolio-level outcomes. Assist in developing and maintaining accurate AXIS models for various pricing initiatives, adhering to company guidelines as outlined in Corporate Pricing Standards. Run models and communicate results to the Pricing Lead and other relevant stakeholders. Conduct financial analysis to explore and communicate the fundamental drivers of financial results, and suggest potential actions to achieve targeted outcomes. Assist in developing, documenting, and gating assumptions for various initiatives, including model simplifications, ensuring thorough risk assessment and financial impact analysis. Support ongoing improvements to the infrastructure and processes of the functional group and the department. Assisting the team responsible for Annual New Business Plan development, submissions, and approval, as well as quarterly NBV reporting, as needed. What we are looking for: Actively working towards an FSA/FCIA designation. 3-5 years of experience in an actuarial or finance-related role. Strong Excel skills, with exposure to AXIS preferred. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage with both technical and non-technical audiences; ability to explain concepts and results clearly. Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to take ownership and drive projects to completion. Quick learner, capable of adapting to new processes and applying existing knowledge efficiently. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of cross-functional teams. Knowledge of Universal Life / Participating Whole Life products is a plus. When you join our team: We’ll empower you to learn and grow the career you want. We’ll recognize and support you in a flexible environment where well-being and inclusion are more than just words. As part of our global team, we’ll support you in shaping the future you want to see. Salary range is expected to be between $60,550.00 CAD - $112,450.00 CAD If you are applying for this role outside of the primary location, please contact for the salary range for your location.
