Infant Development Consultant

Overview Join Our Team as an Infant Development Consultant at BGC Okanagan. Make a meaningful impact by supporting infants with, or at risk of, developmental delays or disabilities, and support their families through home-based assessment, planning, and guidance that facilitates the infant’s development. Responsibilities Conduct interviews with clients and families to assess needs, outline available services, and make referrals to appropriate programs when necessary. Help families set developmental goals for their infants and create support plans to achieve them. Provide counseling and therapy sessions for families and infants, and guide parents in activities tailored to their infant’s needs. Work with families to evaluate program effectiveness and client progress, resolve challenges, and adjust plans to meet established objectives. Provide parenting skills training and guidance to parents in skills specific to the infant’s needs. Record home visits and ensure that parents and professionals involved with the family receive bi-annual progress reports. Maintain accurate and complete reports and records on clients; provide monthly reports. Discuss case planning and concerns with therapists, social workers, and other team members. Connect families with additional resources, including parent groups, therapists, and community organizations; support smooth transitions to other services. Act as a liaison with community agencies, providing education and advocacy on issues related to the program. May be involved in fundraising or public relations events. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a field related to child development Certificate in Infant Development and Supported Child Development Minimum of one year of experience working with infants, young children, and their families Valid Class 5 BC driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle with appropriate liability insurance Successful completion of the agency screening process, including a criminal record check Additional Information Location: Penticton, BC Hours: 12 hours per week Rate of Pay: $38.68 per hour Closing Date: Open until filled We are an equal opportunity employer committed to equitable and inclusive employment practices and to representing the communities we serve.
