In our Energy & Resources team we support projects from feasibility to commissioning, focusing on renewable generation and resource transformation. As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will lead and participate in the design of electrical power systems for new and existing hydropower plants, including high‑power switchgears and controlgears. Primary Responsibilities Design electrical power systems for hydropower plant projects. Develop switchgear and controlgear shifts, diagrams and drawings (medium‑voltage cabinets, control panels, power distribution centres, etc.). Prepare detailed project deliverables such as top‑view and elevation drawings. Calculate equipment sizing and cable gauge selection; validate calculations. Select material and calculate quantities. Coordinate electrical work with other engineering disciplines (structural, civil, control and protection, auxiliary mechanics, heavy mechanics, building and architecture). Qualifications University degree in Electrical Engineering. Member of l'Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) or eligible to register. More than 10 years of experience. Knowledge of Hydro‑Québec or other public utility standards (asset). Knowledge of power distribution methods, practices and tools used in design of power systems. Proficiency with design software (AutoCAD, etc.). Fluency in French (oral and written). Fluency in English (oral and written) for national-level communication. Familiarity with applicable design standards and codes, including Quebec Electrical Code. Resourcefulness, motivation, enthusiasm and strong will to deliver successful projects.
