Position Overview We are looking for a paving foreman/superintendent, with strict focus on paving experience and ability to understand and interpret drawings and paving layouts. Key Responsibilities Coordinate, schedule, supervise, and lead all onsite activities for heavy civil construction projects involving varying scopes of work. Monitor project progress, maintain requisite documentation/records, and coordinate with project manager regarding relevant issues and project progression. Interpret contract drawings, specifications and correspondence to achieve project intent and proactively resolve conflicts. Collaborate with project managers to ensure project goals are achieved. Coordinate and supervise relevant subcontractors, trades, and external suppliers. Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety standards, environmental regulations, and corporate procedures. Daily quantity/production and cost reporting to direct supervisors and senior management, as required. Participate in employee recruitment, staffing, and training. Various other coordination and management functions, as necessary. Skills & Qualifications Minimum of 5 years' experience managing heavy civil construction projects of varying scale and scope. Specifically experience with asphalt paving, grading, traffic control, and pipe installations is required. Strong working knowledge of construction process, OPSS specifications, OTM Book 7, and other relevant construction manuals. Experience with GPS and elevation layout equipment is an asset.
