Compensation & Location Pay : 91,200 – 136,800 CAD (base salary range) Hours : 37.5 per week Location : Toronto, Ontario, Canada Business Line : Analytics, Insights, & Artificial Intelligence Job Description The Model Validation (MV) group in Enterprise Risk is responsible for the independent validation and approval of all analytical models used by TD. The Manager leads the validation of Financial Crime Risk Management models for Trading Surveillance, develops validation plans, coaches junior validators, and ensures compliance with internal Model Risk Policy and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities Validate FCRM models for Trading Surveillance. Develop effective and efficient validation testing plans and complete validation on schedule. Conduct or instruct junior validators to ensure capture of all material and critical model limitations. Communicate with stakeholders to solve model limitations and meet validation lead time targets. Deliver high‑quality model validation reports with justification to support conclusions and audit/regulator review. Recommend model approval or corrective actions based on independent vetting. Maintain full professional knowledge of FCRM modeling techniques and share knowledge with business partners. Support development of standards, procedures, and coaching plans for vetting and validation. Respond to requests from Canadian and U.S. regulators, internal audit, and external audit regarding risk models and validation processes. Work effectively with internal model development group, audit, and other partners to ensure risk models meet required Bank standards. Education & Experience Post‑secondary degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics, financial engineering, or engineering. 4+ years experience developing or validating FCRM models in Trading Surveillance with exposure to AI/ML modeling. Preferred Qualifications In‑depth knowledge of FCRM modeling for Trading Surveillance, Trading Strategy, Algorithm, and FI operations. Proficiency in Python, H2O.AI, Scala, and related software. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent time‑management, project management, and multitasking skills. Accountabilities Manage validation projects and provide day‑to‑day direction to junior validators. Work in a highly interactive, team‑oriented environment with Big Data developers and analytical experts. Provide analytical thought leadership and stay current on developments in Trading Surveillance modeling. Work closely with key stakeholders to develop validation plans and optimize resource use. Execute on the validation plan to deliver results aligned with enterprise model validation procedures. Protect the interests of the organization by identifying and managing risks. Foster a knowledge sharing environment and manage escalation of issues. Support short‑term and annual plans for Trading Surveillance model validations aligned with enterprise priorities.
