Director Medication Compliance & Regulatory Montefiore Health System Job Summary The Director of Medication Compliance & Regulatory is responsible for the strategic oversight, development, and continuous advancement of the medication safety and compliance program across the health system. This role ensures a proactive, data‑driven approach to identifying and mitigating medication‑related risks, promoting a culture of safety, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Location Yonkers, New York Compensation Pay Range: $169,600.00–$212,000.00 Work Hours Shift: Day (8:30 AM–5 PM) Mon–Fri, 7.5 hours daily Essential Functions Lead development and oversight of a comprehensive medication safety improvement program, including proactive analysis and trending of pharmacy‑related data to support hospital‑wide safety initiatives. Provide leadership and/or participate in medication safety committees, communicating vertically and horizontally to all constituents. Provide strategic direction to ensure that pharmacy clinical services are delivered in full compliance with medication standards established by federal and state regulatory agencies, as well as Joint Commission accreditation requirements. Lead the development of pharmacy‑focused safety and compliance scorecards and dashboard indicators, in collaboration with medical, nursing, and hospital leadership, to monitor and track adherence to established medication safety goals and performance benchmarks. Establish and implement a structured pharmacy‑focused executive rounding process that supports medication safety and compliance through operational excellence. Lead the implementation of proactive and reactive medication safety and compliance initiatives, including active participation in root cause analyses (RCA). Hire, train, supervise, evaluate, and, if necessary, discipline or terminate personnel reporting to the position. Develop, review, and implement written policies and procedures. Proactively communicate with and educate leadership and staff regarding medication safety and compliance initiatives and activities. Establish and maintain a patient/customer service‑oriented philosophy for Medication Safety and compliance and their dealings with all patients/customers. Qualifications PharmD Valid NYS Pharmacist license and registration. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in medication safety/compliance within a large, complex healthcare environment that includes both faculty and private practice providers, and three (3) years of direct experience in accreditation/regulatory affairs, performance improvement, and/or medication safety. Certification in medication safety, quality, or risk management (e.g., CPPS, CPHQ) and/or completion of a fellowship in patient safety or pharmacy practice highly desirable. Experience in an academic medical center preferred. Expert‑level understanding of medication safety principles and practices, with proven experience leading initiatives across inpatient, outpatient, and ambulatory settings. Familiarity with medical and pharmacy education, including engagement with residents and trainees, is strongly preferred. Proficiency in performance improvement methodologies such as PDSA cycles, LEAN techniques, and High Reliability Organization (HRO) principles.
