Gibson Energy’s Moose Jaw Refinery is a 24/7 heavy crude oil processing site with a throughput of approximately 22,000 barrels per day. The facility operates with strong connections to road, rail, and pipeline infrastructure and has ongoing upgrades to improve efficiency and emissions. This is a leadership role focused on safe, efficient, and compliant operations at the Moose Jaw site. What You’ll Be Doing General Operations Leadership Oversee day-to-day operations of the Crude Unit, Utilities, Rail Car Loading, and Tank Farms/Logistics.Lead and mentor unionized operations staff, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.Act as Incident Commander during emergencies and ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards.Collaborate across departments to support project integration, training, and operational readiness. Maintenance Coordination Partner with the Senior Maintenance Supervisor to plan and execute maintenance and turnaround activities.Ensure safe equipment isolation and preparation for servicing, and actively participate in the MOC process. Regulatory Compliance Work closely with Environmental & Regulatory teams to meet all provincial and federal requirements.Support ground disturbance activities and ensure documentation and reporting are accurate and timely. Project Delivery Provide operational input during project planning and execution phases.Ensure smooth handover of new assets and processes, including training and documentation. What You’ll Bring Minimum 4th Class Power Engineering (3rd Class preferred). 5+ years of operations or maintenance experience in crude oil processing or terminal/pipeline facilities. 2–3 years of leadership experience, ideally in a unionized environment. Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Valid driver’s license and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Working Conditions Field-based, 12-hour rotating shift schedule (days and nights). Hands-on support in an outdoor industrial environment. On-call availability for emergency response. Background checks as outlined in Gibson Energy’s policy (may include pre-employment drug & alcohol testing, functional fitness testing, employment history verification, references, education/credentials verification, driver’s license verification, and criminal history check).
