Build data center infrastructure in Vancouver as a fully onsite Data Center Technician focused on cabling, servers, and hardware installation.
This contract role supports large-scale construction, commissioning, refurbishment, and expansion projects. You will work with fiber optics, copper cabling, networking infrastructure, and data center operations. Aerotek seeks technicians with at least two years in data centers, telecommunications, or related technical environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, terminate, label, and organize fiber and copper cabling
- Rack and stack servers, network equipment, and related hardware
- Troubleshoot server, network, and cabling infrastructure issues
- Maintain cabling maps, inventory records, and project documentation
- Follow safety protocols around electrical and low-voltage systems
Requirements:
- Two years of relevant technical environment experience
- Experience with structured cabling and hardware installation
- Ability to interpret drawings and rack elevations
- Comfort lifting 50 pounds and working on ladders
- Proficiency with hand tools and installation equipment
