Director of Sales, Eastern at Sun Life Québec We are looking for a Director of Sales to support the regional sales team in achieving insurance and retention targets. The role focuses on developing and managing sales promotion forums and building relationships with internal and external partners. Job Description The incumbent will support the regional sales team to reach individual insurance and retention targets by developing sales campaigns and managing various promotion forums. They will build and maintain relationships with partners, support escalations, and help grow market share through advisor penetration strategies. Responsibilities Management of support functions including Business Development Managers, Inside Sales and Regional Coordinator. Support the RVP in firm relationship management at senior leadership level. Manage front‑line escalations. Improve sales results through Inside Sales and business management campaigns. Maintain relationships with advisors and firms. Collaborate with national Directors of Sales to define, promote and share best practices. Identify sales opportunities through new or existing relationships. Identify, monitor and mitigate potential risks to the company. Effectively manage the team’s budget. Assist the Regional Vice President in developing a strategic plan for the region to guide marketing and sales of Sun Life Financial products and services. Shared Accountabilities Complex tier 1 case consultation. Budget planning and accountability. Support Insurance Sales Representative onboarding. Provide input into sales target discussions from a firm perspective and liaise with representatives. Qualifications University degree or post‑secondary education. Life and Health Insurance License. Knowledge of insurance and health products and operations. Chartered Financial Planner (CFP) or Certified Life Underwriter (CLU / AVA) – asset. Leadership experience with proven results – asset. Leadership / Management Competencies Highly organized and detail oriented. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Bilingualism (French and English, oral and written) required. Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight timelines. Strong partnering skills and ability to work with multiple stakeholders. 5‑7 years proven success in a sales role – asset. Superior relationship building skills. Knowledge of the insurance industry and market segmentation and trends. Proven networking skills with advisors and sales leaders.
