We’re looking for one (1) part-time Youth & Family Counsellor I/II to join our Warming Centre on a temporary contract from December 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026. Our Warming Center operates from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., seven days a week during the winter months. It provides a safe and warm space for youth and young adults up to the age of 29, offering access to essential services such as shelter from extreme winter weather, food, basic hygiene supplies, and wellness support “The Role”The Youth and Family Counsellor is responsible for the direct care and treatment of children within our programs. Providing support and services that impact the healing and wellbeing of children, young people, and families through individualized case management, as well as the ongoing development of structure, routine, and goal setting within the program’s therapeutic milieu. Responsibilities Implementing and maintaining a structured setting fostering the development of personal and social functioning for each client. Participates actively in supervisory meetings, team meetings, and retreats, planning sessions, and designated in-service training. Is responsible for a variety of therapeutic responsibilities for particular children, youth, and their families. In combination with relevant case management, these responsibilities include attendance at case conferences, involvement in intervention strategies, consultations, school meetings, doctor’s appointments, family meetings, etc. Maintains the upkeep of the living space of the program and ensures the provision of a program that fits the requirements of the Licensing Department. Is responsible for a variety of tasks associated with program functioning including meal preparation, cleaning, and transportation of children, youth, and families. Executes other responsibilities as may be assigned. Qualifications Diploma/Undergraduate Degree in the Social Sciences, Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Nursing, and minimum two to four years related experience. Current CPR and First Aid Certification. Experience in working with young people preferred. Current proof of professional registration may be required for certain diplomas or degrees.
