This role is ideal for a motivated individual looking to develop technical expertise in tailings management within a dynamic oil sands environment.**Minimum Requirements:*** Undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering with 2 years' working experience from graduation.* Registered EIT (Engineer-in-Training) with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA)* Ability to apply general principles & standard techniques/procedures.* Working knowledge of technical work processes related to work area* Can assess outcomes of proposed technical changes and address several technical issues simultaneously* Demonstrates continuous improvement mindset and ability to learn* Developing interpersonal/communications skills**Key Accountabilities:*** Assist in monitoring and reporting tailings performance and compliance with regulatory standards.* Support the development and implementation of tailings management plans and operational strategies.* Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and environmental teams to ensure safe and efficient tailings operations.* Analyze data and prepare technical reports to support decision-making and regulatory submissions.* Participate in field inspections and audits to verify adherence to best practices and standards.* Contribute to continuous improvement projects focused on sustainability and operational efficiency.* Support start up and optimization of the new Advanced Dewatering Polymer plantSuncor's operations include oil sands development, production and upgrading; offshore oil and gas; petroleum refining in Canada and the U.S.; and the company's Petro-Canada retail and wholesale distribution networks (including Canada's Electric Highway, a coast-to-coast network of fast-charging electric vehicle stations).With a strong strategy for growth and our long-standing approach to sustainability, operational excellence, capital discipline and technology and innovation, Suncor offers a solid foundation for you to continue building your career.
