THE OPPORTUNITY: As an Associate Lawyer within BWB’s Labour and Employment Group, the successful candidate will work on a variety of labour-related files, while supporting clients in various sectors and industries. In particular, our new Associate Lawyer will be responsible for the following: Providing legal advice to clients on matters pertaining to complying with labour legislation, labour disputes, arbitrations, negotiations, workplace policies, collective agreements, and other related legal matters & proceedings; Representing clients throughout the collective bargaining process, and during arbitration hearings, mediations, labour board proceedings, and court litigation; Conducting legal research, and staying current on all labour legislation and any relevant changes; Working with other lawyers to develop effective legal strategies to ensure clients’ needs are not only met, but exceeded with every interaction; and, Collaborating with other members of the firm to ensure practice management requirements, including but not limited to proper client communication, file management, and time & billing practices, are completed to the firm’s standards.
