General Summary:

Reporting to the VP, Finance, with a dotted line to VP, Sales and VP, Supply Chain, the Pricing and Data Analyst shall handle the analysis and interpretation of market data, implement pricing strategies, and predict future market trends. The Pricing and Data Analyst will work closely with Sales, Procurement, and Operations teams to ensure the pricing reflects market shifts and supply constraints. 

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Pricing Model Management


• Develop, maintain, and enhance pricing models to align with evolving market conditions and internal strategic priorities.


• Create data-driven methodologies for setting sustainable price levels across multiple product lines and customer segments.

2. Market Analysis & Intelligence


• Gather, monitor, and interpret relevant commodity market data, competitor pricing, and industry trends.


• Provide daily, weekly, or monthly market updates to guide procurement and sales teams in critical decision-making.

3. Margin & Profitability Assessments


• Conduct margin analyses to evaluate profitability across various products and customers.


• Recommend price adjustments to meet targets, mitigate risks, and capture new opportunities.

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration


• Work closely with Sales, Procurement, and Operations teams to ensure pricing reflects real-time market shifts and supply constraints.


• Serve as a liaison to Finance to uphold clear, consistent financial and margin reporting standards.

5. Forecasting & Budgeting


• Build and maintain forecasting models to anticipate market fluctuations and potential cost variations.


• Contribute to budgeting processes by providing projections on revenue, margins, and overall price performance.

6. Reporting & Communication


• Produce dashboards and presentations to communicate pricing impact, margin variance, and performance against targets.


• Deliver clear, concise insights and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels.

7. Process Improvement and Innovation


• Identify opportunities to refine pricing processes using technology, automation, or advanced analytics.


• Comfortable navigating industry shifts and supply chain disruptions, offering proactive solutions.


• Stay updated on industry's best practices, incorporating new tools or approaches to keep pricing strategies cutting-edge.


• Other ad-hoc financial & procurement project work as required.

Job Requirements:


• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Data Analytics, or a related field.


• 5-7 years of experience in pricing, financial analysis, or revenue management preferably within the food service or consumer goods industry.


• Proven track record of working as a Pricing and Data Analyst effectively with cross-functional teams.


• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel (pivot tables, complex formulas).


• Proficiency in BI/analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or similar).


• Experience with ERP systems and data management is a plus.


• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to translate raw data into actionable insights.


• Ability to conduct scenario planning, sensitivity analyses and problem-solving skills.


• Good communication skills, including writing skills, and presentations.


• Strong attention to detail with a sense of urgency to prioritize, plan, and organize.


• Ability to work under pressure with a high level of efficiency.


• Entrepreneurial mindset and a roll-up-the-sleeves work ethic; must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Cdn $80,000-85,000.
