POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Administer medication according to safety principles and the code of ethics;
In collaboration with the rest of the team, carry out a set of nursing care and treatments in order to maintain health, restore it and prevent illness;
Promote proactive care for residents;
Practice in compliance with current standards and laws as well as the company's code of ethics;
Record notes in residents' files in accordance with the requirements of the Ordre des Infirmiers et Infirmières Auxiliaires du Québec (OIIAQ) and keep them rigorously up to date;
Contribute to the development and adjustment of the residents' intervention plan through observations;
With respect and discretion, ensure good communication and medical follow-ups between nursing colleagues and with their manager;
Collaborate on medical visits;
Contribute to maintaining the bond of trust with the families or loved ones of residents as well as with the various stakeholders (CLSC, CSSS, etc.);
Respond to all emergency situations.


ROLE AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administer medication in accordance with safety principles and the codes of ethics
  • Assist in evaluating and adjusting therapeutic nursing plans (TNPs) for residents requiring special clinical care
  • Collaborate in the follow-up of the medical dossiers, occasionaly arrange appointments and prescriptions for the residents
  • Create and maintain metuculous notes in related Dossiers in accordance with the requirements of the Ordre des Infirmiers et Infirmières du Québec (OIIQ)
  • Create and maintain metuculous notes in the residents Dossier in accordance with the requirements of the Ordre des Infirmiers et Infirmières auxiliaires du Québec (OIIAQ)
  • Ensure good communication as well as medical follow-ups with the vested parties
  • Help maintain the relationship of trust with residents' family and friends as well as with various stakeholders (CLSC, CSSS, etc.)
  • Provide a range of nursing care and treatments in order to maintain and restore residents health and to help prevent illness
  • Provide healthcare and wellness services to maintain and restore residents health and to help prevent illness
  • Respond to all emergency situations
  • Upon request by the residents doctor or pharmacist, update the residents medical dossiers and prescriptions
  • Upon requests from physicians, pharmacists or the CISSS, follow up on residents medical dossiers and prescriptions
  • While interacting with them, report any noticeable changes in a residents mental or physical health to the on-call nurse.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Member of the OIIAQ
  • Up to date CPR / AED training certificates
  • PDSB training
  • Diploma of vocational studies (DVS)
