Duties Determine the flight test program necessary for the aircraft certification approval. Act as test pilot flight crew member to conduct flight tests necessary for certification and to audit manufacturers' production standards. Develop new regulations and advisory material including acceptable flight test techniques necessary for certification of newly developed aircraft, aircraft systems and system features for which existing regulations and advisory material are either inadequate or do not exist. Review qualifications and make specialist recommendations for authorization for ministerial delegation to individuals and organizations for design approval flight testing of aeronautical products. Maintain a high level of conventional and flight test specific piloting skills and participate in professional development and skills enhancement training as required by the Department. Work environment The reporting location for this position is located at 159 Cleopatra Drive in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Office attendance of a minimum of three days per week required in accordance with latest TBS policy, and subject to change. Intent of the process The results of this process will initially be used to staff one (1) English Essential position on an indeterminate basis. A pool of fully qualified candidates will be established to staff identical positions within Transport Canada in the National Capital Region.
