Director, Financial Risk Management – Role We’re seeking our next Director, Financial Risk Management. Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, the Director, Financial Risk Management will be primarily responsible for leading and enhancing the Financial Risk Management program at Community Trust Company, in compliance with OSFI regulatory requirements. Keep reading… Responsibilities Design, implement and manage the financial risk management program including market risk, liquidity and funding risk, capital management risk, counterparty risk, and model validation. Establish a financial risk appetite framework and implement processes to ensure the Company operates within it and can identify and manage any exceptions. Attend other senior management committees as a key member, including the Enterprise Risk Management Committee, Credit Risk Committee, Asset Liability Management Committee (ALCO), etc. Ensure the design and operating effectiveness of each financial risk management program is sufficient given the business risk and complies with OSFI Guidelines. Act as the key point of contact for all financial risk matters with the Board and Committees. Act as the key point of contact for all financial risk matters with OSFI. Manage strong working relationships with business partners, including other control functions. Provide leadership, training, motivation, coaching and evaluation to the financial risk team and the broader company on financial risk matters. Qualifications University degree in a business-related field 10+ years of risk management experience as part of the second line of defense in an OSFI-regulated institution preferred. Combinations of experience in financial risks are preferred. Strong business acumen and knowledge of principles, techniques, current trends, best practices, regulations, policies, and programs related to risk management 10+ years of people management experience is preferred A desire for high performance and ability to make an impact A solutions-oriented mindset, critical thinking and sound decision making Strong collaboration, influencing, conflict resolution and stakeholder relationship building and people and process management skills Proven ability to manage multiple deliverables with firm deadlines Excellent written communication skills – the ability to articulate key messages concisely and effectively Experience writing policies Experience creating reports for senior management Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Power BI; RPA advantageous Application and Additional Information Sounds like you?
