Global Trade Engineer

Overview Join Collins Aerospace in Ottawa, one of the world leaders in wireless communications networking. The facility develops next‑generation HF radios and software‑defined radio waveforms that support significant throughput improvements and ad‑hoc networking features for customers worldwide. What You Will Do Assign jurisdictional classification and define harmonized system (HS) codes for tangible and intangible items. Perform all site‑based secure transfers of technical data between internal customers and all external entities. Maintain applicable trade compliance records in accordance with regulatory requirements. Establish and maintain training and audit/assessment programs to ensure implementation and effectiveness of internal controls. Create clear concise engineering documentation, including user manuals, training materials, design documents, test procedures and technical reports. Conduct and document instrument security and global trade assessments, creating procedures for clearing instruments as required. Establish documentation management controls and define labeling and naming conventions for new and existing products. Assist with compliance and regulatory analysis tasks as required. Qualifications You Must Have Canadian citizenship is required. Eligible to obtain a Government of Canada secret level security clearance. Typically requires a STEM degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field. Qualifications We Prefer Working knowledge of Canadian export controls (EAR, ITAR). Working knowledge of customs regulations and HS tariff regulations. Experience with an ERP system such as SAP is preferred.
