Northern Health is looking for an experienced, highly efficient, and self‑directed Nursing Unit Clerk to support the Emergency Department. In accordance with the established vision and values of the organization and working under general supervision, the Nursing Unit Clerk performs a variety of clerical duties related to the operation of a patient/resident care area, such as acting as a communication link for the Unit by transcribing and processing physicians’ orders, communicating with other departments and hospitals, coordinating patient/resident appointments, arranging patient/resident tests and receiving results, receiving and directing visitors, telephone answering, assembling/maintaining patient/resident charts, and performing keyboarding and data entry responsibilities. Nursing Unit Clerk Certification Is Required For This Position. Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Days, Evenings – 07:30 to 15:30, 15:30 to 23:30, Rotating. Dawson Creek & District Hospital Dawson Creek & District Hospital is a full‑service community hospital that provides service to Dawson Creek and surrounding communities. It has 31 acute care beds and 15 regional adult psychiatric beds, and it is the orthopedic trauma and surgical centre for the Northeast Region of BC. Services include: Emergency ICU Day Surgery Respiratory Therapy Primary Care Acute Care Diagnostic Imaging Laboratory Visiting Specialists Urology Dermatology Pediatrics Obstetrics and Gynecology Construction is underway on the new Dawson Creek & District Hospital, anticipated to open in Spring 2027. Dawson Creek Dawson Creek is surrounded by wide blue skies and the rolling foothills of the Northern Rockies. The city, also known as the Mile Zero City, marks the start of the Alaska Highway, a 2,400 km long highway connecting Alaska and the Yukon to Western Canada and the United States.
