The Camp Counsellor “Counsellor” is responsible to assist in the planning, delivery and supervision of the Camp programs and participants; ensuring compliance with HIGH FIVE® standards, the Health and Safety Regulations; and Municipal Policies and Procedures. Benefits and Perks Optional OMERS Pension Plan from the date of hire Work‑life Balance Initiatives Wellness, Social and Staff Ambassador Committees Employee and Family Assistance Plan Perks and Savings Partnerships Compensation and Work Term $17.85 to $19.34 per hourJune to August Qualifications High school diploma preferred, however high school students will be considered based on maturity, skills and experience Standard First Aid, CPR “C” with AED or willing to obtain Experience working with children and youth HIGH FIVE®: Principles of Healthy Child Development or willing to obtain Valid and satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check Able to commit to the full term of employment and be available Monday to Friday From 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m Mandatory staff training will take place on evenings and weekends prior to the start of summer camp Responsibilities Work in collaboration with all camp staff to plan, organize and implement camp programs and supervision of all activities Act as a leader within camp; accountable to the Senior Team Lead for all activities; ensuring the safety and participation of children Interact with the Camp participants in a positive and professional manner in the delivery of the program; incorporate the principles of HIGH FIVE® regarding healthy child development Ability to swim and assist campers in the water is required Respond to first aid situations and document incidents Comply with the Child Care Legislation and Child Abuse Policies as outlined at staff training Advise the Senior Team Lead and/or Recreation Coordinator of any problems related to equipment, programs or public inquiries and shall report any unacceptable behaviour to the Recreation Coordinator and/or Inclusion Staff or Senior Team Lead Adhere to high standards of ethical behaviour and demonstrate their understanding that their personal actions impact the public’s perception of the Municipality Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Team Lead and/or Recreation Program or designate Submit an Application Please submit your cover letter and resume online at or before Monday March 30, 2026.
