Take a look at our website to know more about us. Role Description We’re hiring for a Chief Estimator — a newly created leadership role that goes beyond traditional estimating. You’ll lead our Estimating team, own project estimating end-to-end, and work cross-functionally with our Design, Sales, and Pre-Construction divisions. From feasibility studies and Class D budgets to phasing plans and proposal writing, you’ll shape project viability from the earliest conversations through to execution. Who You Are 5–8+ years of progressive estimating experience , preferably in commercial or general construction. Experience with ground-up and interiors construction , including budgeting and bid packaging. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, mentor, and grow a team . Familiarity with design budgeting , phasing plans , and pre-construction feasibility studies . Proficient in estimating and collaboration tools: Planswift, Procore, Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Canva, InDesign, PowerPoint . Strong communication skills — written, verbal, and visual. A proactive mindset and the ability to work under tight deadlines, manage multiple priorities, and adapt in a fast-paced environment. A degree or diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering , or related field is preferred. Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and techniques Experience in construction estimating and bidding for general contract work Strong written and verbal communication skills Attention to detail and ability to multitask and prioritize Believe in delivering excellence and finding solutions to problems that stop others from forging ahead. Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Team Management Manage and mentor a team of estimators, fostering a collaborative and performance-driven environment. Conduct regular team reviews, ensuring quality control and continuous learning. Delegate assignments and provide guidance on complex scopes, bid strategies, and time management. Prepare, oversee, and review Class D through Class A estimates, feasibility studies, and value engineering proposals. Conduct site visits and lead pre-bid meetings and design handoffs. Support phasing plans and constructability reviews during pre-construction. Analyze architectural and engineering drawings and specifications for risks, gaps, and opportunities. Ensure comprehensive pricing for labour, materials, equipment, and sub-trades. Collaborate with our Design division during early-stage concepting and budgeting. Advise on constructability, cost impact of design choices, and alternative solutions. Partner with the Business Development team to support pricing for new business opportunities. Attend site walkthroughs, contribute to client meetings, and assist with pre-award presentations. Prepare compelling and detailed proposals tailored to client needs. Proposal Writing & Bid Management Write and review proposal documents with attention to clarity, layout, and storytelling. Ensure all bids align with scope, specifications, and contractual obligations. Maintain and continuously improve the Master Tender List and trade database.
