Position: Experienced Tree Climber & Tree GroundsmanJob Type: Full-TimeLocation: Durham Region and Surrounding AreasSalary: Competitive, based on experience

Tree Climber Responsibilities:Safely climb trees to prune, remove limbs, and perform tree trimming or takedownUtilize chainsaws, ropes, and rigging equipment to safely cut and remove tree partsRig and manage ropes for safe, controlled limb and tree section removalOperate and maintain equipment including chippers, stump grinders, and mulchersFollow all safety protocols and industry best practices for aerial tree workWork collaboratively with ground crew to ensure job site safety and efficiency

Groundsman Responsibilities:Support the tree climbers by managing ground operations such as equipment setup and debris removalOperate chainsaws to cut branches or tree sections as directed by the climberMaintain and operate equipment including chippers, stump grinders, and mulchersEnsure all materials are chipped, ground, or mulched and safely removed from the job siteAssist with site cleanup, ensuring work area is left clean and free of hazardsWork closely with the tree climbing crew to ensure safe and efficient operations

Requirements for Both Roles:Minimum 3 years of experience in the tree care industry (climbing and/or ground work)Strong chainsaw experience, with proficiency in safe operation and maintenanceExperience with rigging ropes, climbing techniques, and aerial tree workComfortable operating tree care equipment such as chippers, stump grinders, and mulchersKnowledge of safety protocols and best practices in tree careAbility to work efficiently both on the ground and in the treesStrong teamwork skills and ability to follow instructionsPhysical fitness and stamina for heavy lifting and manual laborValid driver’s license (commercial a plus)

Preferred Skills:First Aid and CPR certificationChainsaw certification or equivalentExperience with tree care risk management and safety auditsAbility to troubleshoot equipment issues
