RQ08474 - Data Analytical Specialist/Scientist - Senior Job Openings RQ08474 - Data Analytical Specialist/Scientist - Senior About the job RQ08474 - Data Analytical Specialist/Scientist - Senior Experience and Skill Set Requirements Identifies the reporting requirements to be analyzed and harmonize reports across the GMCB Program/Projects. Identify and use the best practices in terms of data visualization to present complex concepts simply and clearly. Work closely with the GMCB, Ministry Partners & Vendors to access multiple data sources (both internal and external) and set-up the processes required for the extraction, transformation and loading of data required for the creation of program/project reports. Report automation process: provide recommendations of which reports to automate and the requirements to achieve this. Prepares and executes the transition plan required for the automation of reports. Identifies and develops new reports based on the evolving needs of the GMCB, Ministry Partners & Vendor. Demonstrates creativity and innovation in reporting on an ongoing basis (ex. Implementation of new tools, optimization of visual presentations of results, program/project performance measurement, etc.). Performs other duties, as assigned. Highly experienced with data analysis and data visualization using a variety of tools/ methods. Able to work independently, or with minimal direction, and undertake complex tasks. High attention to quality; detail oriented. Strong ability in the analytics and interpretation of data; trend analysis, etc. Experienced leading a team and building capacity amongst junior staff. Strong collaboration and communication skills. Talent for problem solving. Excellent project management skills and ability to delivery results in a fast-paced environment. Ability to exercise a high degree of judgment and initiative. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to present ideas clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing to a variety of audiences. Job requires a valid Ontario driver's license to facilitate regular travel. Ability to pass Government security background clearance, involving a police records check. Criteria Ratings MUST TOTAL 100 Senior Data Analytical Specialist / Scientist Skills 25 points Stakeholder management skills, Interpersonal and consultative skills, Facilitation skills. Ability to develop various reports based on user-centric design principles. Collaboration, working in, and leading high performing teams. Mentoring junior staff and building capacity. Technical Skills 60 points Proficiency using data visualization tools such as PowerBI, MicroStrategy, Tableau or Business Object. Proficiency with programming tools such as Python, SQL, SAS or R. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Some form of HTML, CSS, JAVA, Web Development. Communication Skills 10 points Presenting, writing skills, and negotiating skills. Ability to concisely convey complex data analysis elements to a non-technical audience. Similarly, the ability to gather reporting requirements and translate those into technical, actionable, reporting design features. Ability to build consensus and drive acceptance. Public Sector Experience 5 points Minimum of 3-5 years of experience analyzing data, creation of reports and the interpretation of data from a variety of data sources. NOTE: This position is currently listed as "Onsite"; however, the Assignment under this request will provisionally be Hybrid, working 7.25 hours per calendar day, sometime between 8:00-5:00 PM (excluding lunch breaks) Monday to Friday inclusive, unless otherwise identified. These conditions are subject to change as the OPS reflects on its current situation. During the duration of the assignment you will be under the discretion of the Hiring Managers requirements for the Project you are assigned to. Must HAves: Experience collecting, cleansing, and assembling large amounts of data from multiple sources to enable the creation of complex reports.
