Overview We are looking for a Learning & Experience Designer with strong design thinking, curiosity, and a process-driven mindset. Rather than deep technical specialization, this role prioritizes the ability to understand problems, ask great questions, think critically, and build clean, effective learning experiences using modern tools. You’ll join a learning team supporting a large employee population, working on 2–3 projects at a time. This is an execution-focused role where you’ll assemble storyboards, build content in tools like Articulate Rise and Storyline, and contribute to improving the overall learning experience and assessment approach. This role is well suited for junior to mid-level designers, or candidates with transferable backgrounds (e.g., visual design, communications, fine arts, etc.) who apply structured thinking and creativity to solve problems. Contract: 18 months (start date: ~Feb 2026) Hybrid: M/W/F Onsite - downtown Toronto Responsibilities Design and develop digital learning materials including eLearning modules, storyboards, videos, guides, and performance support resources. Apply design thinking to understand learner needs, clarify problem statements, and recommend effective learning approaches. Build learning solutions using tools such as Articulate Rise, Storyline, PowerPoint, and basic Adobe applications. Support multiple projects (typically 2–3 at a time) with clear communication, adaptability, and attention to detail. Translate content from SMEs into clear, engaging learning experiences that align with project goals. Participate in project meetings, incorporate feedback, and collaborate closely with senior designers and learning consultants. Contribute to improving learning assessments and validation processes to enhance overall training effectiveness. Stay curious and open to learning new tools, technologies, and instructional methods. Balance structured planning with the ability to respond to urgent requests. Follow team standards, processes, templates, and quality guidelines. Qualifications 2–5+ years of experience in instructional design, learning experience design, visual design, communications, education, or related fields. Strong design thinking mindset — able to ask good questions, clarify requirements, and translate problems into effective learning solutions. Portfolio demonstrating practical learning design experience, even if internal-facing or template-based. Working knowledge of learning tools such as: Articulate Rise and Storyline PowerPoint / Microsoft Office Adobe tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) — basic proficiency is acceptable Strong writing and communication skills with the ability to simplify complex information. Ability to work on several projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Curiosity, problem‑solving ability, and a thoughtful approach to design; technical perfection is not required. Experience adapting to both strategic planning and quick-turnaround stakeholder needs. Comfortable ramping up quickly by shadowing team members and progressively owning tasks over the first 30–60 days. Portfolio Requirement Candidates must provide samples of learning design or related work (eLearning, storyboards, visual designs, writing samples, prototypes, etc.) prior to or during the screening call to proceed. You may scrub any NDA protected information as needed. We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, disability status, or other non-merit factor.
