Our client, a tech-savvy consulting firm that helps mining companies, from juniors to giants, optimize operations and reduce costs with cutting-edge solutions tailored to each development phase is looking for an IT Operations Specialist with a strong background in SharePoint administration and document management. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in optimizing data storage processes and implementing best practices for long-term data management. The role has the potential to evolve into a long-term opportunity with growth within the organization.



Key Responsibilities:

  1. SharePoint Administration : Manage SharePoint site setup, user permissions, troubleshooting, and ongoing maintenance to meet client needs.
  2. Document Management : Collaborate with clients to define and implement data storage, version control, metadata, and taxonomy standards within SharePoint.
  3. Data Governance : Establish and enforce protocols to ensure data integrity, security, and consistent document structures across SharePoint sites.
  4. Client Support : Serve as the primary point of contact for SharePoint setup, document management processes, and ongoing support, ensuring client satisfaction.
  5. Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work with IT and business teams to ensure document management needs are met effectively.
  6. Continuous Improvement : Stay updated on SharePoint best practices, recommend improvements, and implement process enhancements to optimize document management.


Qualifications & Skills:

  1. Proven experience in SharePoint administration with a strong understanding of SharePoint capabilities (site setup, permissions, document libraries, etc.).
  2. Hands-on experience in document management and a solid understanding of data storage best practices.
  3. Familiarity with data governance principles and experience in structuring data for easy access and long-term storage.
  4. Ability to work directly with clients to understand their needs and tailor solutions accordingly.
  5. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, particularly in SharePoint environments.
  6. Experience with metadata, taxonomy, and version control in document management systems.


Desirable:

* Experience working with clients in an IT operations or document management context.

* Familiarity with other document management systems or collaboration platforms.

* Experience in data migration or SharePoint migrations is a plus.
